Keeping Your Dog Steady

October 20, 2012 By duckdaddy

Hunting season is here so we focus extra hard on what matters most…. a steady dog who is under control in the blind. If a dog leaves before being sent, not only does he not have the opportunity to see all of the birds being shot, he also has a chance to get accidentally shot himself!  Many dogs have been shot by overanxious hunters who never realized the dog left the blind. To avoid this, we shoot many close marks in the water tempting dogs to break yet teaching them restraint.  We are also sure to fire multiple gunshots simulating the action of a fast paced hunt.  If your dog is having problems, don’t wait until the season is over to send him to a professional.  We train many dogs right through hunting season allowing them to hunt with their owners on the weekend while training with us during the week.  Our goal is for you to have the dog of our dreams!
